The planned release of Neko Neko’s first album, My favourite sound is orange, has been delayed due to the funding for the album being pulled. My favourite sound is orange was set to be released at the start of the summer 08 but has now been delayed untill at least November, possibly even the new year. There are plans to release singles from the album from september onwards, so keep your eyes peeled for them. I’m gutted about this and it feels like this album is never going to be released. In the mean time i’ve been working on the live set with the band and laptop sets. Hopefully will be playing soon. Neko Neko
Hello all I hope everyones had a good summer, although not a very sunny one. It’s been a long time since i’ve posted anything here and theres a good reason for it. I’ve been busying myself redesigning my website and finishing off my favourite sound is orange, more on that later. There are many new features to the site such as a music page with more music ..d live page, updated discography, links page, sitemap and a new contact page. I’ve also added a search function so you can search the whole site quickly. The forum is also a new feature and a place where you can discuss Neko Neko releases, gigs, news, write gig reviews and just kick back and chat. The shop page has had a massive revamp and now sells DRM free, digital downloads of individual songs and full releases in 320 kbps mp3 and AAC formats as well as CD’s. Theres plenty of other new features so why not have a virtual stroll over. Neko Neko
Hello everyone and a depleted happy New Year from Neko Neko, just a little news update to prove i’ve not fallen off the edge of the world. I’ve been very busy over the last few months moving home and studio, recording and working on the live performance.
I now live in Leeds 8 months out of a year as i am studing there. It’s a really nice city but i do miss Manchester. The move put a hold on recording for “My favourite sound is orange” but i’m back on track now and making good progress. Most of the writing has been done and the songs demo’ed so keep your eyes peeled for an early version in the jukebox on my website. I also started work on a new batch of songs i think could be an EP so watch out for that too and a remix album is in the works.
More and more work is being focused on the live show as well. Due to the complex nature of Neko Neko’s music it isn’t a simple plug your guitar in and off you go job as i want to get the sound and flow of the show to reflect an album. I can’t wait to get playing live! The website has had a big update. I’ve added a forum where you can discuss the music, gigs (in the near furture) and artwork. There will be exclusive live set recordings posted here for members only. You can submit your own photos and artwork for Neko Neko and vote for your favourite logo, or submit your own. I have added some new photos of recording sessions for “My favourite sound is orange” and photos of a practise session for the live set. So here’s to 2008, a very busy but productive year for Neko Neko, Cheers. Gray Hello everyone!! Great news Sporks and foons EP is now finished and released! I am very happy with the way its turned out and it was well worth the hard work. The CD is availible from here at the shop page and my profile page at £4 (+ £1 shipping). Its also availible as a digital download from here as individual tracks in Mp3 (320kb) and AAC formats. I have posted a new song up called Ghosts which is the first track off my new Album called “My favourite sound is orange”. Well finally Neko Neko has a official home on the web here. The website has a mp3 player juke boc where you can listen to the whole of the Spoorks & foons EP and remixes for FREE. There is also an extensive photo gallery with photos from the recording sessions of My favourite sound is orange amounst other photos of the live band and artwork, there is the usual news, disography, live dates, shop and contact pages and a detailed bio page. So if you’ve not heard Sporks & foons EP yet or your just bored head over and please your ears and eyes. I have uploaded a new song today called Peacock cave from My favourite sound is orange which is still in the works but coming along strongly so to get a sneak preview have a listen.
